i don’t think we all realize how much taylor is changing the course of the music industry. so many seasoned music industry execs were positive that she’d fail if she re-recorded her previous work. not only is she changing the way artists are treated by their labels; she ripped the rug out from under these executives and i know for a fact that they’re sweating rn.

this is so awesome 😭

danceundersparklinglights:

I want someone to ask Taylor about her process sooooo bad. Like…. is she holed up listening to her old albums as she prepares to redo them? Does she do it mostly from memory? How long does it take to finish a re-recorded song? Is it fun or is it hard? Is it both? What song has she enjoyed revisiting the most? Is there an album she’s extra excited to revisit? Does she know that I love her?

idsb:

i cannot believe Taylor’s biggest ever release day is for a 10 year old album that everyone once hated on and slut shamed her for, that she was devastated didn’t win a Grammy. Red era Taylor deserves this 10000x over

Taylor Swift became the first woman to win the award for album of the year three times.

books?? amazing. paperbacks?? soft, cozy, may fit in your pocket, cheap so you don’t feel bad for taking notes in them. hardcovers??? beautiful, pristine, ground you into the world they hold by making you grip them tighter, the stars of every bookshelf. ebooks?? convenient, cheap, always with you, a vast library that you can hold in your palm. new books?? crisp, the smell of wood, ideas waiting to imprint themselves upon the world. old books?? objects transcending history, sweet smelling, enriched by the hands that stroked their pages. books.

I genuinely feel like I’m 13 years old again, dancing around my bedroom as I scream along to Taylor Swift songs with a lot of passion for a tween who has never experienced her first love.

just a reminder that there’s a difference between one’s interpretation of a song and what inspired taylor when writing a song- i can interpret a song, think it’s about one thing, internalize it how i want/need to and apply it to my own life, while also acknowledging that taylor was probably inspired by something else and has her own story behind her songs
